On March 19, a team from the WRH Program visited Prof. Masahiro Okamura from Brookhaven National Laboratory, USA. He is collaborating with Prof. Noriyosu Hayashizaki of the Laboratory for Zero-Carbon Energy, Institute of Integrated Research (IIR). Prof. Okamura initially joined Science Tokyo as a specially appointed professor under the WRHI Program (FY2018), and through both programs he has made many accomplishments.

Although his term under WRH concludes at the end of fiscal year 2024, he will continue at Science Tokyo as a specially appointed professor.  His joint research with Prof. Hayashizaki is titled “Innovation of radiotherapy through medical-engineering cooperation in particle accelerator development”.
