<Field of Specialization>
Synthesis of single crystals, topological materials, photoemission spectroscopies, electronic transport properties
<Aim>
My name is Yukiko Obata, recently assigned to a Specially Appointed Assistant Professor at Laboratory for Materials and Structures in October 2019. After receiving a Doctor of Science degree in materials science and engineering from Tokyo Tech in March 2018, I spent one and a half years as a Postdoctoral Fellow at Photon Factory, Institute of Materials Structure Science, High Energy Accelerator Research Organization (KEK). Then, I returned to Tokyo Tech. I have been studying candidate oxide materials for topological insulators with a focus on electronic structure and electronic transport properties. Together with my experiences in the studies of topological materials, I am motivated to realize novel functionalities at the interfaces between topological insulators and other materials, in particular superconductors. I am very grateful and looking forward to conducting various collaborations at Tokyo Tech WRHI.
