Harnessing microbial synthetic biology for the production of fine and speciality chemicals

＜Brief introduction of collaborative research and aims at WRHI＞
My interest is in the production of fine and speciality chemicals using synthetic biology approaches, which includes antibiotics, flavours and fragrances. Through collaborations in the WRHI network, I would like to develop a fast, predictable production pipeline based on the Design-Build-Test-Learn concept used in synthetic biology. This will enable us to rapidly create chemical diversity which may lead to discovery of novel antimicrobials.
