On October 2, Professor Frederic R. Leroux, University of Strasbourg, presented his talk at the WRHI Lecture*. Emceed by his host researcher, Professor Koichi Mikami, Department of Chemical Science and Engineering (Ext. 2142), he talked on the following theme:
- Enantioselective C (sp3) difluoromethylation
- Lithium/element exchange for atropo-enriched biaryls via arynes
Time was spared for Q&A by theme which turned out to be lively discussions.
After the lecture, two professors continued the enthusiastic discussion on their common research theme, and at the end, the planned collaborative research project started taking shape. It is expected to bear fruit in the form of joint paper in near future.
