Biography

I graduated from The University of Tokyo in 1986, and got PhD at the Graduate School of Engineering, The University of Tokyo in 1992. As a faculty of the same, my research focused on the protein engineering of antibody and other molecules with the aim of biosensing. I received Promotion Award and Research Award from the Society of Chemical Engineers in Japan, and received Japanese Ramsay Memorial Fellowship for 1997-99, for studying antibody engineering under Sir. Dr. Greg Winter in Laboratory of Molecular Biology, Medical Research Council, Cambridge UK. In 2013, I became a Professor at Chemical Resources Laboratory, Tokyo Tech, which is reformed in 2016 to Laboratory for Chemistry and Life Science , Institute of Innovative Research. I am now serving the President of Biochemical Assay Society of Japan, and Vice President of the Japanese Society of Enzyme Engineering.

Expectations for WRHI

I am expecting international collaborative research that benefits both of my ex-foreign students and ourselves.
