My research topic is “The study of ferromagnetic shape memory alloys NiMnGa particles polymer composite deformation behavior”. This is the smart material. Normally, NiMnGa alloys, shape can be changed by either apply stress or magnetic field. Due to the poor machinability and brittleness of this alloy, their powder with soft polymer matrix; composite, is currently become to research trend. It is the alternative candidate for actuator materials; however, the apparent strain of composite is too small. The causes could be coming from a polymer stiffness change during the deformation from stress or magnetic field. The tasks for one month research are to observe the deformation of embedded particles by using Dynamic Mechanical Analysis (DMA) and calculating the stress distribution in polymer matrix under magnetic field by using finite element method (FEM). Moreover, I got the chance to present my research results from my master course until now to the faculty members, including Professor Baradiaran the director of BC Materials research center.

It is the great experience for me to spend the time not only for research study, but also for new friends who will be an international collaboration in the future and Spanish culture. In Spain, Spring began faster than in Japan, so Sakura is going to be blooming. It is very nice place. I am looking forward to visit there again.
